How to use variables in a PDF template to insert dynamic content

Certain fields in a PDF template allow you to use variables to insert dynamic content. This article will show you which fields accept variables and which variables you can use.

[[Document_Title]] The name of the document. For a manual it is the name of the manual. For an article it is the name of the article.

[[Document_Type]] Manual or Article.

[[File_Name]] The name of the PDF file.

[[Date]] The date in the format configured in your account settings.

[[Date_Time]] The date and time in the format configured in your account settings.

[[YYYY_MM_DD]] Year, month and date formatted as YYYY-MM-DD.

[[MM__DD__YYYY]] Month, day and year formatted as MM/DD/YYYY.

[[HH_MM_SS]] Hours, minutes, and seconds formatted as HH:MM:SS. 24-hour clock.

[[HH_MM_SS_12HR]] Hours, minutes, and seconds formatted as HH:MM:SS. 12-hour clock with AM/PM.

[[Article_Updated_At]] The date the article was last updated in the format configured in your accounts settings.

[[Article_Updated_At_MM__DD__YYYY]] The date the article was last updated in MM/DD?YYY format.

[[Article_Updated_At_YYYY_MM_DD]] The date the article was last updated in YYYY-MM-DD format.

[[Page_Number]] - The page number.

[[Page_Count]] - The total number of pages.
