Can the ScreenSteps Desktop authoring tool work in a virtualized or remote desktop environment? (Citrix, VMware, Remote Desktop, etc.)

Yes. ScreenSteps can capture images for anything you see on your monitor.

You can also run the desktop authoring tool in a virtualized environment, though your performance will be better if you run it on your local machine and just capture screenshots from the virtualized environment.
