ScreenSteps

Which browsers are supported?

Updated on

We treat two areas of the ScreenSteps service differently for browser support:

  1. Content Management and Administration Centers
  2. The Published Knowledge Base (KB)
  3. The ScreenSteps Browser Extension

Content Management and Administration Centers

For the Content Management and Administration centers where you manage and edit content, we support commonly used browsers running on desktop PCs and laptops:

  • Google Chrome (latest version) – Windows, macOS, Linux
  • Microsoft Edge (latest version)– Windows, macOS, Linux
  • Mozilla Firefox (latest version) – Windows, macOS, Linux
  • Safari (latest version) – macOS

Published Knowledge Base (KB)

You should not run into an instance where end-users are unable to view your content, even if they are on older browsers. Note that some interactions may not work on unsupported browsers.

For a Published KB (the site where you send your end users to view your content), we recommend commonly used browsers running on desktop PCs, laptops, tablets, and phones:

  • Google Chrome (latest version) – Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android
  • Microsoft Edge (latest version)– Windows, macOS, Linux
  • Mozilla Firefox (latest version) – Windows, macOS, Linux
  • Safari (latest version) – macOS, iOS

Foldable Sections, Checklists, and Courses will work on currently supported browsers. They will not work in browsers that are no longer supported such as IE 11.

Browser Extension

The ScreenSteps Browser Extension is available for:

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Any other Chromium-based browser that allows for extensions to be installed

We recommend keeping your browser up to date with the latest version.
