You can customize what you want to appear in the sidebar of your ScreenSteps site. This article will describe the available options.
Open the site template editor

Site Sidebar and Article Sidebar Content
In the site template editor there are two sections for customizing sidebar content. One section will change what appears in the sidebar when you are viewing an article and the other changes the sidebar for all other views where a sidebar appears.
Just check the box next to any options you would like to appear.
Make sure to click (1) Preview and then (1) Publish your changes so they appear on your public site.
Site Sidebar Content descriptions
To add a sidebar message, you must:
- Check the box next to Message
- Click Edit to edit the contents of the message
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
| RSS | Displays a Subscribe to our feed link. |
| Chapters | Displays a list of all of the chapters in a manual. |
| Message | Show a custom message in the sidebar. Click the Edit link to edit the message. Editing the message affects the message in this sidebar as well as the article sidebar. You can use HTML tags in the message field which means you can embed video. |
| Recent Updates | Show a list of recently updated articles within the site. |
| Download Manual PDF | Displays a link to download a PDF of the entire manual. If a PDF of the latest version of the manual does not exist then the user will see a Generate Manual PDF link. Clicking on it will generate a new PDF. Once a PDF for the current version of the manual exists then all users will see a Download Manual PDF link. The PDF will use the PDF Template assigned to the site. |
| Other Assets | Displays links to other assets within the site (e.g. other manuals). |
Articles Sidebar Content descriptions
