Point someone to ScreenSteps when they ask a question in Slack

This Slack Workflow facilitates efficient communication by using an emoji to prompt users to check the ScreenSteps site for answers, enhancing self-service and reducing redundant queries.

Worklfow Overview

  • Add an emoji to a message in Slack to trigger a response.
  • The response inquires if the person has checked the ScreenSteps site for an answer.
  • Includes a link to the ScreenSteps site for easy access.
  • Designed for questions asked in Slack to promote self-service.

Open Slack and navigate to Automations.

Select New Workflow and start it.

Choose the trigger for when an emoji reaction is used.

Add the desired emoji and specify the channels to monitor, then click Continue.

Note: You have to add all channels you want it to watch.

Select Add Steps and choose Messages, then Reply to a Message in a Thread.

Select Finish Up, provide a title and description for your workflow, and click Publish.
