This article will help you fix an issue where the ScreenSteps desktop software will not open when selecting Edit in Desktop from a ScreenSteps web browser page.
Windows 10
1. Bring up Task Manager
Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to bring up the menu where you can activate the Task Manager.

2. Click on More Details

3. Locate ScreenSteps
- Look under the Background processes section
OR - Look under the Google Chrome (or if you are using Edge app, look there)
You can also try searching for ScreenSteps to find a background process.

4. End Task for ScreenSteps
You should find a ScreenSteps entry.
- Click on ScreenSteps to select it.
- Click the End Task button.
You can now close the Task Manager and launch ScreenSteps again or install the latest update.
