How to add letters to a sequence annotation (workaround)

Updated on

ScreenSteps has a sequence annotation that allows you to mark up an image with a numbered sequence (e.g. 1, 2, 3). Sometimes, you want to have the sequence show letters instead of numbers (e.g. A, B, C).

The sequence annotation does not include the option to have numbers. However, this workaround will show you a workaround for creating a sequence annotation that includes letter.

1. Take your screenshot

You must first take a screenshot. Then you can complete the following steps to add an annotation to the screenshot.

2. Select the Text Annotation

3. Add the annotation to your image

Click the image with your mouse to add the text annotation to your screenshot. The image below will be what shows up on the image.

The next steps will show you how to make this look more like the sequence annotation.

4. Modify the font (optional)

  1. Click the Paint Brush icon
  2. Modify the font, size, and color of the text to whatever you'd like

5. Change the Corner Radius (optional)

Move the scale all the way to the right. This will give your text annotation a rounder shape (and look more like the sequence annotation).

You can also adjust any of the other settings for this annotation.

6. What the annotation looks like

By resizing the annotation, you can create a look that very closely matches the numbered sequence annotation.
