How to Reference an email address in an article

Updated on

Overview

Sometimes you want to include a link to an email address, like this: Click here to send an email to [email protected]. By clicking that link, it will automatically open up a reader's email application, create a new email, and insert the email address into the To field. Below are instructions for how to do that.

Action

1. Select text

  1. In a paragraph block, write the text you want to turn into a link.
  2. Select it.

Click External Link

Type mailto: followed by the email address.

e.g. mailto:[email protected]

After you publish the article, that text will be a hyperlink. When you click the hyperlink, it will open up the reader's email application and include that email in the To field.
